Training & Development

My name is Julie Smith and I am delighted to have joined the White House as their Quality and Development Manager. I am passionate and dedicated to improving the quality of Early Years provision and have 31 years experience within the childcare sector since gaining my NNEB in 1985.

I believe the key to ensuring that each child achieves the best from the care and education they receive lies in the training, dedication and motivation of the practitioners who work with them. My experience includes working within both the private and maintained sector and my roles have included Nanny, Teaching assistant, Early Years Practitioner, Childcare Lecturer, Quality Assurance co-ordinator, Early Years Consultant, Childcare Tutor and Childcare Assessor.

I have previously worked with the White House in my role as a consultant with the local authority and as a tutor with training organisations. I always admired their commitment and professionalism, and now enjoy working within the organisation supporting and promoting continued professional development with both individual practitioners and staff teams across all sites. I work three days per week, Tue/Wed/Thur and I am based at the Borrowash Nursery site.
